2024 Railroad Passenger Car Alliance Insurance Program

United Shortline Insurance Services is proud to be the insurance provider for the Railroad Passenger Car Alliance (RPCA) and it's members.

How do I take advantage?

  • This insurance requires a membership with the RPCA - Railroad Passenger Car Alliance.

  • It is coverage specifically designed for private rail car owners.

  • Once membership is complete, fill out the applicable forms and applications on this page. 

Current Members

The renewal application for the Rail Passenger Car Alliance (RPCA) Liability and Physical Damage Program are linked above to complete. 

The policy renews annually on February 21st. 

**Mid-term additions are allowed and will be charged at varying prorated premiums.

Applying is as easy as... A, B, C...

  • A. Download the specific application for the coverage required. 

  • B. Complete the application(s) digitally via PDF (it will calculate premium) or print & fill out by hand.

  • C. Print the completed application form, sign and mail with a check to United Shortline Insurance Services (or your specific agent)

Coverage Limits

​RPCA Inland Marine Limits Of Insurance:

  • Valuation: Actual Cash Value

  • Deductibles: $1000; ( Flat Wheel: $2500, Flood/Earth Quake: $10,000 )

  • Liability: $1,000,000 Any one member

  • Newly Acquired Property: Up to $250,000

  • Add’l Debris Removal Expense: Up to $75,000

  • Fire Protective Systems: Up to $75,000

  • Flat Wheel Coverage

  • Fire Department Service Charge: Up to $25,000

  • Pollutant Clean-up & Removal: Up to $25,000

  • Rerailment Expense: Up to $25,000

  • Valuable Papers & Records: Up to $50,000

RPCA Liability Limits

  • $2500 SIR Per Occurrence

  • $5,000,000 Each Occurrence

  • $10,000,000 Aggregate Limit
